Kaleo Quest Farm wedding

Amelia & Ryno Farmer | Kaleo Quest Farm Wedding

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”

Some wedding days have a feeling that stays with you long after the last photograph has been taken and Amelia and Ryno Farmer’s Kaleo Quest Farm wedding was definitely one of those days. From the moment I arrived there was something special about the combination of the beautiful farm setting, the mountain views, the elegant styling and the people who surrounded this couple.

Amelia looked absolutely beautiful in her lace wedding dress from Perez Collections while Ryno and his groomsmen wore grey suits with touches of pink that tied in perfectly with the bridesmaids’ dresses. The reception was filled with roses, greenery and candles and the hanging lights inside the venue created one of the most magical details of the entire day.

But as beautiful as all the details were, it was the people and the moments between them that made this Kaleo Quest Farm wedding so memorable to photograph.

A Beautiful Kaleo Quest Farm Wedding

Kaleo Quest Farm wedding venue is a purpose-built wedding and function venue set on a farm away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The venue has its own chapel as well as a large outdoor area which makes it possible to create different styles of celebrations depending on the couple and their guests.

For this Kaleo Quest Farm wedding, the setting worked beautifully with the romantic styling Amelia and Ryno had chosen. The natural surroundings gave us beautiful areas for photographs while the reception venue provided a completely different atmosphere later in the day.

One of the first things that caught my attention was the lighting inside the venue. There are hanging lights across the ceiling that almost look like they are floating above the room. Once everything was set up they created such a magical, fairy-tale atmosphere.

It is one of those details that makes the Kaleo Quest Farm wedding venue feel different from a standard reception space. The lights added warmth and atmosphere to the photographs and became an important part of the story of the day.

Amelia’s Lace Wedding Dress

Amelia’s wedding dress from Perez Collections was absolutely beautiful. The lace dress featured delicate lace details that gave it a romantic and timeless feel.

There was so much texture in the dress which made it wonderful to photograph. Lace catches light beautifully and gives close-up photographs plenty of detail without needing anything else in the frame.

Her look was completed with a headpiece from Wimsy which added another delicate detail to her bridal look.

The bridesmaids also wore dresses from Perez Collections. Their soft pink dresses worked beautifully alongside Amelia’s white dress and the grey suits worn by Ryno and his groomsmen.

Ryno wore a grey checkered suit with a pink tie while his groomsmen wore grey suits with matching pink details. The combination of grey and pink worked so well against the natural colours of the farm.

For farm wedding photography, colour choices like these can make such a difference because they allow the bridal party to stand out against the natural surroundings without looking disconnected from them.

The Moment Ryno Saw Amelia

One of the moments I will remember most from this Kaleo Quest Farm wedding was Ryno’s reaction when Amelia walked down the aisle.

He shed a tear as he saw his bride approaching and it was such a genuine moment. There was no posing and no direction needed. It was simply Ryno seeing Amelia for the first time as she walked towards him.

These are the moments I love capturing most as a wedding photographer.

A wedding day is full of things that have been planned months or even years in advance but emotions cannot really be planned. You can choose the flowers, the dress, the décor and the venue but you cannot predict exactly how someone will react when they see the person they love walking towards them.

That little tear said so much.

It is also why I love documentary-style moments within wedding photography. The photographs become more than pretty images because they hold a memory of exactly how that moment felt.

A Bridal Party Full of Personality

Amelia and Ryno definitely chose their bridal party well.

We had so much fun taking the bridal party photographs because everyone was spontaneous, relaxed and willing to have fun with it. There was plenty of laughter and personality which made the photographs feel natural rather than overly posed.

I always appreciate a bridal party who is happy to just enjoy themselves during photographs. It makes my job easier and it gives the couple photographs that actually look like the people they know.

The pink bridesmaid dresses and grey suits also looked fantastic together. The colours created a lovely contrast while still keeping the overall wedding look elegant.

This was one of my favourite parts of the day because there was so much energy and laughter. It is exactly the kind of atmosphere that makes farm wedding photography enjoyable.

Couple Portraits with the Mountains

After the ceremony and bridal party photographs it was time for Amelia and Ryno’s couple shoot.

The mountain views around the venue gave us an incredible backdrop and we managed to capture some beautiful photographs of the two of them together.

There is something about photographing couples in a natural setting that I really enjoy. Rather than placing them in front of a plain backdrop, the landscape becomes part of their story.

The mountains gave the photographs a sense of scale while the natural surroundings kept everything relaxed. We were able to get a mixture of romantic portraits and more natural moments between Amelia and Ryno.

Their couple shoot was definitely one of the highlights of the day for me.

When I photograph a Kaleo Quest Farm wedding, I want the location to become part of the gallery without taking attention away from the couple. The scenery should complement their story rather than become the entire story.

And with these mountain views, we had plenty to work with.

Romantic Reception Décor

The reception décor continued the romantic feel of the wedding.

Brown wooden tables were dressed with white runners and decorated with plenty of flowers, roses and greenery. Candles were also incorporated into the tables which added another layer of warmth to the reception.

The natural wood worked particularly well in the farm setting. Rather than trying to make the venue feel completely different, the décor worked with the surroundings and added a softer romantic element.

The flowers from Kaleo Quest Farm wedding venue brought everything together with roses and greenery running throughout the reception space.

And then there were those lights.

The ceiling was filled with hanging lights that looked almost like floating lights above the tables. They gave the room a beautiful fairy-tale feeling and were definitely one of my favourite features of the Kaleo Quest Farm wedding venue.

As the day moved towards the evening, the lights became even more important to the atmosphere of the room.

A Three-Tier Wedding Cake

The wedding cake from C is for Cake was another beautiful detail.

Amelia and Ryno chose a three-tier cake with each layer having a different flavour. I love this idea because it gives guests a little bit of variety and makes the cake part of the dessert experience rather than everyone having exactly the same flavour.

The cake was decorated with flowers, roses and greenery which tied it into the rest of the wedding décor.

It looked beautiful sitting among all the other details of the reception and fitted perfectly with the romantic style of the day.

And there was definitely no shortage of dessert.

Dinner and Plenty of Sweet Treats

After all the excitement of the ceremony, photographs and celebrations it was time for everyone to sit down and enjoy dinner.

The meal included rice, salads and meat and it was absolutely delicious.

Dessert was where things became even more difficult because there were so many options. Along with the wedding cake there were tarts, brownies, muffins and other sweet treats.

For a photographer, wedding receptions are about much more than just photographing the couple and the décor. I love capturing these parts of the day too because they show what the celebration actually felt like.

People relaxing after the ceremony. Guests enjoying dinner. Friends laughing around the tables. Family members catching up.

Those moments are all part of the wedding story.

The Magic of the Kaleo Wedding Venue

There are plenty of beautiful farm venues around the Stellenbosch area but one of the things that stood out to me about the Kaleo Quest Farm wedding venue was how easily it combines the natural farm setting with a purpose-built wedding space.

The chapel provides a beautiful setting for the ceremony while the outdoor areas offer opportunities for photographs and the reception space creates a completely different atmosphere once the celebrations move indoors.

For couples looking for wedding photography Stellenbosch options, a venue like Kaleo Quest Farm wedding venue gives a photographer plenty of variety to work with.

You have the natural surroundings, the mountain views, the ceremony space, the reception details and those incredible ceiling lights. That means the gallery doesn’t have to look like the same photograph repeated throughout the day.

Each part of the venue gives the story something different.

Why This Wedding Was So Much Fun to Photograph

There are certain weddings where the photographs almost seem to happen by themselves because the couple and their guests are so relaxed.

That was definitely the case with Amelia and Ryno.

The bridal party was spontaneous and fun. Ryno’s emotional reaction during the ceremony gave us a beautiful genuine moment. The couple shoot gave us incredible mountain views and the reception was filled with beautiful details.

It was the combination of all these things that made the day so enjoyable.

As a photographer I always want to capture the big moments but I also want to notice the smaller things happening around them.

The tear in Ryno’s eye.

The laughter during the bridal party photographs.

The way Amelia’s lace dress moved.

The pink and grey colour combination.

The flowers and candles on the reception tables.

The mountain backdrop during the couple shoot.

The glow of the hanging lights above the reception.

Those details are what turn a collection of wedding photographs into a story.

Kaleo Quest Farm Wedding Photography

Amelia and Ryno’s Kaleo Quest Farm wedding was filled with beautiful details, genuine emotion and plenty of fun.

From Amelia’s stunning lace dress and Ryno’s grey checkered suit to the soft pink bridesmaid dresses, every part of the bridal party looked incredible. The floral décor, candles and wooden tables created a romantic reception while the hanging lights added that extra fairy-tale touch.

And then there were the people.

Ryno’s emotional reaction during the ceremony, the fun bridal party and the relaxed couple shoot all made this wedding incredibly special to photograph.

For me, that is what farm wedding photography is really about. Yes, I want to capture the beautiful venue, the flowers, the dress and all those carefully chosen details. But more importantly, I want the gallery to bring back the feeling of the day.

Amelia and Ryno gave me so many beautiful moments to capture and I loved being there to tell their story through my camera.

If you are considering the Kaleo wedding venue for your own celebration, take a look through Amelia and Ryno’s gallery and see how their wedding day unfolded.
