Picardie Guest Farm

Anneline & Albert | Picardie Guest Farm Wedding

There’s something truly special about a wedding set in a charming farm venue, where rustic elegance meets heartfelt romance. Anneline and Albert’s Picardie Guest Farm Wedding perfectly captured that magic. Their celebration was intimate, joyful, and full of genuine emotion. Captured by Poplap Photography & Design, their day was a beautiful blend of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

The Couple: Anneline & Albert

From the first moment I met them, it was clear that Anneline and Albert share a deep bond built on love, laughter, and friendship. Their high school sweetheart journey added a special layer of nostalgia and meaning to their wedding day, making every photograph resonate with authenticity.

Anneline looked radiant in her gown by Faye Bridal, a design that perfectly balanced elegance with personal style. Her bridesmaids were charmingly styled in dresses by Special Occasions, while the flower girls wore adorable outfits from Shein. Albert and his groomsmen looked sharp in suits from Mr Suit Hire, creating a perfectly coordinated and stylish look.

A few little moments made the day even more memorable: before Anneline walked down the aisle, each bridesmaid and groomsman went to greet Albert, creating such sweet anticipation. The wedding ring was playfully hidden under a chair, and one of the guests even surprised everyone with a “ring barrier” — a fun, unexpected twist that had everyone laughing. These spontaneous touches added warmth and joy to an already magical day.

The Venue: Picardie Guest Farm

Nestled below the National Afrikaans Language Monument at the foot of the Paarl mountains, Picardie Guest Farm permeates a rich heritage that contributes to its current-day charm. Picardie Guest Farm history stretches back to 1689, when Johannes Muller, Magistrate of Stellenbosch, granted the first plots in the Suider Paarl region. Picardie originally belonged to Isaac Taillefert, whose family came from the French province of Picardie, while the neighboring Laborie farm was granted to his son. Over the centuries, the farm passed through various hands, eventually becoming part of the Louw family estate, which it has remained for six generations.

Picardie Guest Farm combines natural beauty with historical significance. The oldest building, built in 1923 by L.H. Louw for grape packing, and the manor house, designed in 1925 by architect Henri Louw, reflect the classic Arts and Crafts movement with local influences. Picardie is known not only for its stunning vineyards and olive orchards but also for its natural spring water, table grapes, and wines produced for guests at the farm stall, making it a truly unique and personal venue.

Every corner of Picardie Guest Farm, from the soft morning light to the laughter-filled celebrations in the evening, provided the perfect canvas for capturing the couple’s love story in timeless, romantic photographs
