Chelsea & Grant Booysen | The One on Heaven & Earth Wedding
“You are the ‘every day of my life’ that I have always dreamt of.”
There are weddings that I photograph and there are weddings that stay with me. Chelsea and Grant’s The One on Heaven and Earth Wedding is definitely one of the latter.
This is one of my personal top three weddings that I have photographed and The One on Heaven and Earth wedding venue is without a doubt one of my personal top three venues. It is absolutely stunning and somehow it suited Chelsea and Grant perfectly. Elegant, romantic, surrounded by nature and mountains and filled with little details that made the entire day feel like them.
What made this The One on Heaven and Earth wedding even more meaningful to me was seeing two people who simply loved each other. Their relationship was a beautiful reminder that love can cross the boundaries that society sometimes tries to put around it. Race, background, expectations and all the things we are sometimes taught to associate with relationships become very small things when you are standing in front of two people who have simply chosen each other.
At the end of the day, it is love. And Chelsea and Grant had plenty of it.
A The One on Heaven and Earth Wedding That Felt Like Them
From the moment I arrived, I could see that this was going to be a special wedding at The One on Heaven and Earth wedding venue .
The One on Heaven and Earth wedding venue is one of those venues where you don’t need to do much to make the setting beautiful. The venue itself is stunning. It has an elegant yet rustic feeling and the glass architecture allows the surrounding landscape to become part of the experience.
The mountains, trees and natural surroundings create such an incredible backdrop for wedding photography. But what I loved most was how naturally Chelsea and Grant fitted into the setting.
Their wedding styling used shades of pink, rose gold and nude tones which worked beautifully with the natural surroundings. Rose gold runners were placed across the tables with beige napkins, soft pink flowers, candles and delicate centrepieces. Everything felt elegant without being overdone.
That balance is one of the reasons The One on Heaven and Earth Wedding has become one of my favourite wedding galleries.
Getting Ready at High Season Farm
Before the ceremony, Chelsea and Grant got ready at High Season Farm wedding. The morning was already filled with excitement and plenty of laughter.
Grant and his groomsmen had some fun getting ready together and they even had matching polka-dot socks in different colours. The groom wore a classic black suit with a bow tie while his groomsmen wore black trousers with grey jackets and ties.
There were also cigars and a little whiskey before the ceremony. Was the whiskey for celebrating or was it simply to calm the nerves before the “I do”? I’m not entirely sure. Let’s just say it probably helped with both!
The guys were relaxed and clearly enjoying the morning together which made the getting-ready photographs so much fun.
The “I Regret Nothing” Kits
One of my favourite little details from this wedding was the gifts Chelsea and Grant gave their bridal party. They put together little “I Regret Nothing” kits which included things like Bio Plus, peppermint gums, Grand-Pa and a Band-Aid.
It was funny, practical and completely the sort of little gift that people actually remember. I love when couples put thought into their bridal party gifts because it gives me another little piece of their personality to photograph. And this one definitely made me smile.
Chelsea’s Soft and Elegant Bridal Look
Chelsea looked absolutely stunning.
Her dress from Robyn Roberts Design was soft and elegant with beautiful lace details. The upper part of the dress featured delicate lace while the lower part flowed softly and naturally.
She wore pearls as part of her bridal look along with rose gold shoes which fitted beautifully with the overall colour palette of the wedding. Her hair was styled in an elegant updo which suited her perfectly.
Her bouquet was filled with different flowers in shades of pink and white with plenty of greenery. The combination gave the flowers a soft romantic feeling while still looking natural and full.
Everything about Chelsea’s bridal look worked together without feeling too heavy. She looked elegant, romantic and completely herself.
Champagne, Bed Jumps and a Little Inspiration
The girls had just as much fun getting ready. There was champagne, laughter and plenty of excitement as everyone prepared for the ceremony.
At one point we had some fun jumping on the bed while popping champagne and capturing some of those slightly chaotic but completely joyful getting-ready photographs.
There were also some words of encouragement and inspiration shared before the ceremony. I love this part of a wedding day because it is often when the nerves and excitement really start to build. Everyone knows what is about to happen and suddenly the jokes become a little louder, the champagne gets opened and there are plenty of hugs.
It is such a special part of the story to photograph.
An Outdoor Ceremony Beneath the Trees at The One on Heaven and Earth wedding venue
Then came the ceremony.
And honestly… Wow.
The ceremony took place beneath the trees and it was absolutely beautiful.
This might be one of the reasons The One on Heaven and Earth Wedding sits so firmly in my personal top three. There is something incredibly special about saying your vows surrounded by trees and nature with the mountains and landscape around you.
The setting felt romantic without needing to be overly decorated. The natural surroundings did so much of the work.
Chelsea and Grant had a beautiful ceremony surrounded by the people who mattered most to them and it was one of those moments where I could simply step back and watch the day unfold through my camera. And then there was the ring bearer.
He looked absolutely adorable in his little black suit and was clearly ready for his important job.
Rose Petals Instead of Confetti
Instead of traditional confetti, the couple chose pink rose petals. It was such a beautiful choice for the colour palette and looked amazing against the natural surroundings.
The soft pink petals added another romantic detail to the photographs and tied in perfectly with the flowers and styling throughout the wedding.
These small choices are what make a wedding gallery feel cohesive. Nothing has to be enormous or extravagant. Sometimes it is simply about choosing little details that work together.
Canapés, Cheese and a Gin Table
After the ceremony, everyone had a chance to relax and enjoy some delicious food.
There was a beautiful harvest table filled with fruit, cheese and savoury snacks along with canapés. And then there was the gin table. Because obviously every great wedding needs one!
The food and drinks created a relaxed transition between the ceremony and the photographs and gave everyone some time to celebrate before we headed off with the bridal party.
A Bridal Party Full of Energy
The bridal party photographs were so much fun.
Everyone was in the wedding mood and they were completely willing to play along with the photographs. We got creative with the poses and had plenty of fun with the group.
This is exactly the kind of bridal party I love photographing. There is no need for everything to be serious. Yes, we get the classic photographs but there is also room for movement, laughter and a little bit of chaos.
Chelsea and Grant’s bridal party brought plenty of personality to the photographs and you could see how happy everyone was to be there for them.
Into the Mountains for the Couple Shoot
Then it was time for just Chelsea and Grant. We headed into the mountains for their couple photographs and they even packed a picnic for the adventure. This part of the day was incredible. The scenery was beautiful but what really stood out to me was the way these two interacted with each other.
You could see how much they loved one another.
There was a genuine sense of care between them. The little looks, the way they stood together and the way they interacted when they weren’t thinking about the camera all told their own story.
This is one of my favourite things about wedding photography. A beautiful location can give you an incredible backdrop but it is the couple who make the photograph. And Chelsea and Grant gave me plenty to work with. The mountains simply made the story even better.
The Beauty of The One on Heaven and Earth wedding venue
I have photographed many beautiful wedding venues but The One on Heaven and Earth wedding venue is genuinely one of my personal favourites.
It has that rare combination of elegance and rustic charm, perfect for mountain wedding photography.
The glass building allows so much natural light into the space and the surrounding landscape becomes part of the venue rather than something you simply look at from a distance.
The setting feels peaceful and removed from the outside world. For a photographer, there is so much to work with. The trees. The mountains. The natural light. The architecture. The open spaces. The reception styling. And the couple themselves.
For The One on Heaven and Earth Wedding photography, it gives you the ability to create a gallery that changes throughout the day. The getting-ready photographs have their own feeling, the outdoor ceremony has another and then the mountain couple shoot gives you an entirely different look.
That variety is something I love.
Pink, Rose Gold and Nude Reception Details
When we returned to the reception, the styling continued the elegant colour palette.
The tables featured rose gold runners with beige napkins and flowers in different shades of pink. Candles and small details were placed throughout the tables which created a warm and romantic atmosphere.
The combination of pink, rose gold and nude tones was beautiful without becoming too pink or overly feminine. It worked perfectly with the venue’s natural colours and architecture. And because the venue itself is so stunning, the décor didn’t need to compete with it. Instead, it complemented the surroundings.
A Cake Made for the Colour Palette
The wedding cake was a beautiful two-tier white cake decorated with rose gold details, pink flowers and rose gold macarons.
It fitted perfectly with the rest of the reception styling.
White and rose gold gave the cake an elegant base while the flowers added that soft romantic touch that carried throughout the wedding. And yes, there were macarons.
Because apparently one dessert is never enough at a wedding.
A Five-Star Dinner
The food was on another level.
Dinner had a proper five-star restaurant feeling and included tomahawk steak with vegetables and sauces.
It looked incredible and tasted just as good. After a full day of photographs, emotions and celebrating, sitting down to a meal like that was definitely well deserved. Dessert continued the theme with cheesecake served in cups along with cheesecake and tarts.
There was certainly no shortage of food at this wedding.
Love That Goes Beyond Expectations
There is something I keep coming back to when I think about Chelsea and Grant’s wedding.
Their relationship was a beautiful reminder that sometimes love simply doesn’t care about the boundaries people try to place around it.
We are taught so many things about what relationships should look like. We are given ideas about background, race, money, family expectations and what supposedly makes two people “suitable” for each other.
But none of those things matter when two people genuinely love one another. Chelsea and Grant chose each other. And standing there photographing them together, it was obvious how much they cared for each other.
That is what I saw. Not labels. Not expectations. Just two people who were incredibly happy to be marrying each other. And I think that is beautiful.
The After Party Was Wild
And then came the after party. Let’s just say it was wild. I think the photographs probably tell that story better than I ever could. After such a beautiful and elegant day, it was brilliant to see everyone let loose and properly celebrate. The formalities were done. The photographs were taken. The food had been eaten. The drinks were flowing. And everyone could simply enjoy themselves.
Those party photographs are an important part of a wedding gallery too. Years from now, those are the photographs that will remind Chelsea and Grant what everyone was like once the formal part of the day was over.
The One on Heaven & Earth Wedding | Chelsea & Grant
Chelsea and Grant’s The One on Heaven and Earth Wedding is one of my personal top three weddings and I don’t say that lightly. The venue is absolutely stunning and it suited them so perfectly.
From the beautiful ceremony beneath the trees to the mountain couple shoot, the elegant reception styling and the wild after party, the entire day had a wonderful balance between romance, elegance and pure fun.
I loved the little details too. The “I Regret Nothing” bridal party kits. The matching polka-dot socks. The cigars and whiskey before the ceremony. The champagne with the girls. The rose petal confetti. The picnic in the mountains. The gin table. The pink and rose gold details. The beautiful cake.
And all the little moments between Chelsea and Grant that showed just how much they care for each other.
This was a wedding that reminded me why I love photographing people.
Because ultimately, the venue, flowers, dress, cake and décor are all beautiful things to photograph but they are not the reason we celebrate weddings. We celebrate love. And Chelsea and Grant’s love was impossible to miss.
If you are considering The One on Heaven and Earth wedding for your own wedding, take a look through Chelsea and Grant’s gallery. Their wedding is a perfect example of how beautiful this venue can be while still allowing the couple, their relationships and their story to remain at the centre of the day.
