Best Melkbosstrand wedding photography

There are some couples who make photographing a wedding feel incredibly easy. Not because there is nothing happening but because you can see how comfortable they are with each other. Corne and Shanice were one of those couples.

From the way Corne looked at Shanice to the way she looked back at him there was something very obvious between them. They were completely in love and they were also clearly having fun together. That combination is one of my favourite things to photograph because it means the little moments happen naturally.

Their wedding at Melkbosstrand Function Venue , captured by Melkbosstrand wedding photography, brought together two colours that worked beautifully alongside each other: rose gold and blue. The result was elegant without feeling too serious and the personal details throughout the day made it feel like their wedding rather than simply a styled event.

For me, Melkbosstrand wedding photography is not only about photographing the big moments of a wedding day. Melkbosstrand wedding photography is about noticing all the little things that make that particular couple who they are. With Corne and Shanice there was plenty to notice.

From the rose gold rings to the Proteas and roses, from the beautiful stationery to the tiny “Let Love Grow” gifts for their guests, every part of the day had something that connected back to the overall feeling of their wedding.

A Rose Gold and Blue Wedding | Melkbosstrand wedding photography

The colour combination for Corne and Shanice’s wedding was rose gold and blue.

The groom wore a blue suit with lighter blue lines creating a block pattern across the suit. It was a distinctive choice that gave his outfit some personality while still fitting beautifully into the overall colour scheme of the wedding.

The groomsmen wore solid blue suits which complemented Corne’s patterned suit without making the bridal party look too identical. The bridesmaids brought in the softer side of the colour palette with beautiful golden dresses.

Together the blue suits, golden bridesmaid dresses and rose gold details created a warm colour palette that worked particularly well with the flowers and décor.

The wedding décor included roses and Proteas with rose gold details throughout. I loved how the flowers brought some natural texture into a colour scheme that could otherwise have felt very polished. The Proteas added their own character while the roses softened everything around them.

This is one of those weddings where the details worked together without every single element needing to be exactly the same.

That is something I love about Melkbosstrand wedding photography. A wedding gallery should show the entire atmosphere of the day rather than only the couple standing in front of a camera. Colours, flowers, clothing, stationery and small personal details all help tell the story.

Shanice’s Wedding Dress

Shanice wore a beautiful white wedding dress with detailed work across the top section and flowing tulle through the bottom of the dress.

The contrast between the detailed upper part of the dress and the softer flowing tulle gave the dress a lovely shape. The tulle brought movement to the dress while the detail at the top created a more structured and delicate finish.

Her dress was supplied by Lafeye Designs.

With a wedding dress like this there are so many little things to photograph. The details that are easy to miss when you are simply looking at the dress as a whole become important once you start photographing it from different angles.

The fabric, the detail and the way the tulle falls all become part of the wedding story.

For me, those details matter because years from now Shanice may not remember exactly how every part of the day looked. Her photographs will bring those details back.

Rose Gold Rings and Little Details with Melkbosstrand wedding photography

The rings were another beautiful connection to the rose gold theme.

Both Corne and Shanice had rose gold rings. Shanice’s wedding set included a single stone alongside a rose gold wedding band while Corne wore a rose gold ring with a black middle section.

I love photographing wedding rings because they are such a small part of the day but they carry so much meaning. They are also one of those details that can be photographed quietly while everyone else is busy getting ready.

The same was true for the stationery.

The wedding stationery featured delicate pastel watercolour flowers which brought another softer element into the rose gold and blue colour palette.

There was something very cohesive about all these details without everything looking overly matched. The colours appeared in the clothing, the flowers, the rings, the cake and the stationery but each element still had its own character.

That is exactly the kind of detail I want to remember when I look back through a wedding gallery.

The Flowers: Proteas and Roses with Melkbosstrand wedding photography

Shanice’s bouquet was particularly special.

Her bouquet featured a single Protea surrounded by roses.

The Protea gave the bouquet a strong focal point while the roses softened the arrangement around it. It was a lovely choice for a bride who wanted something that felt romantic while still having a little bit of personality.

The rest of the wedding flowers followed the same general direction with roses and Proteas used throughout the décor.

Flowers are one of my favourite things to photograph at weddings because they can completely change the feeling of a room. They add texture, shape and colour while also giving me lots of small details to capture throughout the day.

For Melkbosstrand wedding photography, those details are especially important when telling the story of a wedding after the day is over. A photograph of the bouquet might only take a few seconds to capture but it becomes part of the visual memory of the entire celebration.

And in Shanice’s case, that single Protea surrounded by roses was such a lovely reflection of the overall wedding style.

The “Let Love Grow” Thank You Gifts Melkbosstrand wedding photography

One of the sweetest little details from Corne and Shanice’s Melkbosstrand wedding photography wedding was their thank you gifts for their guests.

They gave small plants with the words “Let Love Grow.”

I absolutely love little details like this because they are not simply there to look pretty. They give guests something meaningful to take home with them and they fit beautifully into the theme of a wedding celebrating love and a new chapter together.

The plants also worked naturally with the Proteas and roses used throughout the wedding. It was another example of how the details of the day came together without needing to be complicated. Sometimes the smallest things become some of the photographs you end up loving most.

A Wedding Cake in Rose Gold

The wedding cake continued the rose gold theme beautifully.

It was a two-tier cake with the bottom tier featuring an ombre effect moving through pink and rose gold. The top tier had a rose gold glitter finish with a single rose and rose gold leaves. I really loved the contrast between the softer pink and rose gold ombre on the bottom and the glittering rose gold finish on top.

The single rose with the rose gold leaves was the finishing detail that brought the cake back into the floral theme of the wedding. When Melkbosstrand wedding photography is focused on a wedding cake I always want to capture more than just the cake itself. It is part of the reception décor and part of the couple’s choices for the day. The colours and flowers help connect it to everything else.

A Couple Who Were Clearly in Love

But as beautiful as all the details were, the part of this wedding that stands out most to me is still Corne and Shanice themselves.

You could see it in the way he looked at her. And then she would look back at him.

There are some things that are difficult to describe without sounding overly sentimental but this was one of those weddings where you did not need anyone to tell you how much they loved each other. You could see it.

They were fun together and comfortable together. There was an ease between them that made photographing their connection feel natural.

That is one of the reasons I love Melkbosstrand wedding photography. The photographs are not only about making sure the couple has a beautiful portrait. They are about catching those little looks and reactions that happen between the planned photographs. Sometimes it is the way someone looks at their new husband.

Photographing the Wedding Details

When I photograph a wedding I want to give the couple a gallery that feels complete.

That means I am not only looking for the big moments. I am looking at the little details that make the wedding theirs.

For Corne and Shanice that meant photographing the rose gold and blue colour palette, the stationery with its pastel watercolour flowers, the Proteas and roses, the rings, the cake and the “Let Love Grow” guest gifts. It also meant photographing the clothing and all the little choices that went into bringing the Melkbosstrand wedding photography day together.

The blue suits were an important part of the colour story. Corne’s suit stood apart from the groomsmen because of its lighter blue lines and block pattern while the solid blue groomsmen suits created a clean connection between them.

The golden bridesmaid dresses added warmth and worked beautifully against the blue. Then there was Shanice’s dress with its detailed upper section and flowing tulle. All of those things are individual details but together they tell the story of the wedding.

Wedding days move quickly.

There is so much happening that it is impossible for the couple to notice everything.

Guests are talking. People are moving around. The bridal party is getting ready. Suppliers are setting things up. Someone is always looking for something. There are flowers to arrange and photographs to take.

The couple are often so busy experiencing their own wedding that they do not get the chance to stop and look at all the details around them. That is one of the reasons Melkbosstrand wedding photography matters to me.

I get to pause and notice things.

I can photograph the stationery before it gets moved. I can capture the flowers before the day gets underway. I can photograph the rings, the cake and the little guest gifts. And later, when Corne and Shanice look through their gallery they can see those details again.

Of course, a wedding like this does not come together because of one person. Corne and Shanice had a wonderful group of suppliers helping create their day. Their wedding dress was from Lafeye Designs while their accessories were from Lovisa.

The beautiful flowers and bouquets were supplied by Adderley Street. Their hair and makeup were done by Blush Makeup and Hair. Their two-tier wedding cake was created by Candy and Lace Cakes Kraaifontein.

The stationery and favours were supplied by Stuck on You, including those lovely little “Let Love Grow” plants for their guests. Their wedding was held at Melkbosstrand Function Venue and their wedding officiant was Mrs. Linda Everitt.

The day was also captured on video by Flying Swan Videography. And behind the still photographs was, of course, Poplap Photography & Design.

Every supplier contributes something different to a wedding day and all those individual pieces eventually become one complete celebration.

Looking Back at Corne & Shanice’s Wedding trough Melkbosstrand wedding photography

When I look back at Corne and Shanice’s wedding, the colour palette is one of the first things that comes to mind.

The blue. The rose gold. The golden bridesmaid dresses. The roses and Proteas. The soft pink tones. The glittering cake. But beyond the colours and details, I remember the couple. They were fun. They were clearly in love. And you could see it without needing to be told.

There is something very special about photographing a couple who simply enjoy being around each other. It makes the photographs feel natural because the connection is already there. My job is simply to notice it and preserve it.

That is what I hope comes through when you look through their gallery. Not only a beautiful wedding but a wedding that felt like Corne and Shanice. A day filled with rose gold and blue details, beautiful flowers, thoughtful little gifts and all the people who came together to celebrate them.
