Stunning Goodwood Sports Club Wedding

There are some couples you photograph where you can immediately see how naturally they fit together. Monique and Jeremy were one of those couples for me. They had such an easy connection and seemed completely comfortable together. Looking back at their wedding photographs, that is one of the things I remember most, they simply seemed to belong together.

Their Goodwood Sports Club wedding was elegant, romantic and filled with beautiful little details. The colour palette of black, peach, white and gold worked so well together and the couple had created a celebration that felt classic without being overly formal.

The day began with the ceremony at the New Apostolic Church in Kuils River on Church Street. There is something special about photographing the beginning of a wedding day in a church. After all the preparation and anticipation, this is the moment when everything becomes real and the couple gets to stand in front of the people they love and make their promises to each other.

Monique looked absolutely beautiful in her long-sleeved lace wedding dress. The fitted style suited her incredibly well and the lace gave her bridal look a timeless elegance. It was one of those dresses that didn’t need a lot of additional detail because the dress itself made such a beautiful statement.

Jeremy went in the complete opposite direction with his wedding outfit and looked incredibly smart in an all-black suit, including a black shirt, black tie and black shoes. His groomsmen also wore black suits while the peach-coloured ties added a lovely touch of colour.

The bridesmaids wore beautiful peach dresses which tied everything together and created a lovely contrast against all the black suits.

After the ceremony, the celebrations continued at Goodwood Sports Club wedding venue, where the reception decor had a beautifully elegant feel.

The tables were dressed in white with gold runners and glass details. One of my favourite details was the way a single rose was placed on each runner underneath glass and candles. It was simple but incredibly effective and gave the tables a romantic feeling without making the decor too busy.

There is something I really love about using a single flower as part of wedding decor. You don’t always need huge floral arrangements to make a table look beautiful. Sometimes one carefully placed flower surrounded by candles can create just as much atmosphere.

The gold details added warmth to the white tables while the glass brought a lovely lightness to the overall styling. Everything worked together beautifully at Goodwood Sports Club wedding venue.

The couple also had some lovely personal touches throughout the reception. Guests received chocolates as thank-you gifts which were a sweet way of showing their appreciation to everyone who had come to celebrate with them.

Even the menus had little rose details on them, carrying the floral theme through to another part of the reception at Goodwood Sports Club wedding venue.

These are the details I always enjoy photographing because they are easy to miss when you’re busy enjoying your wedding day. Someone has taken the time to choose the stationery, decide on the flowers and organise little gifts for the guests. When I photograph them, they become part of the complete story of the day.

When you look back at your wedding gallery years later, those details can be surprisingly meaningful because they remind you of all the little choices that went into creating your celebration.

The wedding cake was a beautiful single-tier white cake with some very interesting details. It had nuts and Crunchies, white chocolate and jam incorporated into the cake which made it sound just as delicious as it looked.

I love when wedding cakes aren’t only about appearance but also have those flavours and little touches that the couple actually enjoys. A wedding cake can be incredibly elaborate but at the end of the day, someone still has to eat it!

This one fitted beautifully with the simple and elegant feel of the reception at Goodwood Sports Club wedding venue while having those extra details that made it special.

And Then There Was the Food at Goodwood Sports Club wedding venue

I definitely have to talk about the food because it was one of the highlights of the reception at Goodwood Sports Club wedding venue!

The meal was served buffet style and there was plenty to choose from, including chicken, mixed vegetables, creamy spinach, baked potatoes, yellow rice and a selection of salads.

There is something wonderful about a proper wedding buffet. Everyone can choose what they want, go back for a little more of their favourites and enjoy a meal together without everything feeling too formal.

And honestly, food is such an important part of a wedding day. After all the excitement of getting ready, the ceremony and photographs, everyone eventually needs to sit down and enjoy a good meal together. Monique and Jeremy certainly made sure their guests were well looked after.

A Goodwood Sports Club Wedding Full of Love

What I remember most about Monique and Jeremy’s Goodwood Sports Club wedding, though, wasn’t the decor or even the beautiful outfits.

It was them.

They were such a lovely couple to photograph and there was something so natural about the way they interacted with each other. Some couples need a little time to become comfortable in front of the camera while others simply seem to forget that the camera is there.

Monique and Jeremy had that lovely connection where you could see how well they fitted together. Their photographs didn’t need to be forced because so much of their affection for each other happened naturally.

That is something I always look for when I’m photographing couples. I don’t want every photograph to feel like a pose. I want to capture the little looks, the smiles and the way you naturally move towards each other.

Those are often the photographs that become your favourites.

As a Goodwood Sports Club wedding photographer, my goal wasn’t simply to photograph the venue and the formal parts of their day. I wanted to capture the atmosphere and the people who made the celebration what it was.

The black suits and peach details gave me a beautiful colour palette to work with while the white dress, lace and flowers brought softness into the photographs. The gold and candlelight at the reception added another layer of warmth.

But as always, the couple remained at the centre of everything.

Wedding photography is about finding that balance between the beautiful details you have spent so much time planning and the real moments that happen around them. The decor matters, the dress matters and the cake matters but the photographs should ultimately bring you back to the people and the emotions of the day.

Looking Back at Their Wedding

Monique and Jeremy’s wedding was elegant without being overcomplicated. The black, peach, white and gold colour palette worked beautifully and the small details gave the reception its own personality. From the rose details on the menus to the chocolates for guests and the single roses beneath the glass, there was a lot of thought behind the day.

But when I look back at this Goodwood Sports Club wedding, the thing that stays with me most is how well Monique and Jeremy fitted together.

They were simply one of those couples where you could see the love between them.

And that is always my favourite thing to photograph.
