Tammeron & Celvin | Ou Stal Wedding

Some wedding days are remembered for the perfect sunshine, beautiful sunsets and blue skies. Others are remembered for something completely different. Tammeron and Celvin’s wedding day at Ou Stal wedding venue was one of those days where the weather decided to have a personality of its own. There was rain, there were breaks in the rain, there was a little bit of running between the barn and the outdoors and there were plenty of moments where we simply had to work with whatever the weather gave us.

And you know what? It worked.

Their Ou Stal wedding was filled with soft pink, rose gold, beautiful flowers, candles, fairy lights and so much love. Even though the rain meant that many of their photographs had to take place inside the barn, their wedding gallery still ended up being filled with beautiful memories.

Looking through their photographs now, I think the rain actually became part of their story.

A Wedding Filled With Soft Pink and Rose Gold

From the moment I started photographing the details, it was clear how much thought had gone into creating the look and feel of the day at Ou Stal wedding venue.

The wedding colour palette was soft pink and rose gold, with beautiful green foliage and pink flowers bringing everything together. It was romantic without being too much.

The rose gold details added warmth while the pink flowers brought a soft, feminine touch to the decor. The greenery worked beautifully against the colour palette and gave the wedding a natural feel. As the day went on, candles and fairy lights added even more atmosphere inside the venue. With the rain outside, the warm glow of the candles and lights made the barn feel especially cosy and romantic.

These are the little details that I love photographing at weddings. Long after the wedding day is over, couples can look back at photographs of the flowers, decor, invitations, rings and all those little touches they spent so much time choosing.

They become part of the story of the day.

Tammeron’s Beautiful Wedding Dress

Then there was the bride. Tammeron looked absolutely beautiful in her white wedding dress.

One of the things that stood out to me was how perfectly the dress fitted her. It suited her beautifully and she looked completely at home in it. There is always something special about photographing a bride getting ready. There is the excitement, the nerves, the final touches and then that moment when everything comes together.

Once the dress is on, the hair and makeup are finished and all the little details are in place, the reality starts to sink in.

Today is the day. Tammeron had that beautiful bridal glow and I loved capturing all those little moments before the celebrations really got underway. From the full-length photographs showing the dress to the smaller details, there were plenty of opportunities to capture her bridal look from different angles.

And because the wedding had such a romantic colour palette, the white of her dress stood out beautifully against the pink flowers and greenery.

Celvin and His Pink Details

Celvin looked equally smart in his black suit.

His outfit had some lovely pink details that tied his look into the overall wedding styling. The pink worked particularly well against the black suit and created a subtle connection between the bride and groom.

I always love seeing how couples bring their wedding colours into their clothing without necessarily matching everything exactly. For Celvin, those pink details were enough to connect his outfit with Tammeron’s flowers and the rest of the wedding decor.

And, of course, there were plenty of photographs of the groom getting ready, spending time with the bridal party and enjoying those moments before the ceremony.

When the Weather Changed the Plan

Then came the rain. And it did not just rain once.

This is where being flexible becomes such an important part of wedding photography. You can have a beautiful plan for the couple photographs and bridal party portraits, but you cannot control the weather. On Tammeron and Celvin’s wedding day at Ou Stal wedding venue, most of the bridal party and couple photographs ended up taking place inside the barn. Instead of seeing that as a problem, I simply looked at what we had available and worked with it.

The barn at Ou Stal wedding venue wedding gave us a beautiful indoor space with plenty of atmosphere. The greenery, flowers, candles and fairy lights created interesting backgrounds and little pockets of light that we could use for different photographs.

Sometimes you actually get something different and more intimate when you have to move indoors. The photographs become less about the scenery and more about the couple themselves.

Sneaking Outside Between the Showers

But we still wanted some photographs outside. So whenever the rain stopped, we took our chance. There was an area just next to the barn where Tammeron and Celvin could step outside for a few photographs together.

We didn’t have hours to work with. We had minutes. We would head outside, get a few photographs, enjoy the little break in the weather and then, as soon as the rain started again, make our way back inside. It was actually quite fun.

There was something almost adventurous about it. Instead of spending a long time walking around looking for the perfect outdoor location, we simply made the most of the few moments that the weather gave us.

And those photographs are some of my favourites because they tell the story of the day.

When Tammeron and Celvin look back at their wedding photographs at Ou Stal wedding venue wedding, they won’t just see a photograph of themselves outside.

They will remember that it had been raining, that we had quickly slipped outside between showers and that we had to head back into the barn when the rain returned. Those little stories are what make wedding photographs personal.

The Bridal Party

The bridal party photographs at Ou Stal wedding venue were another part of the day that had to be adapted around the weather.

Rather than waiting for the perfect weather that might never arrive, we worked inside the barn and created a collection of photographs that captured everyone together. There is always a lot of energy around bridal party photographs.

Everyone is dressed up, everyone is excited and there is usually plenty of laughter. I like allowing those moments to happen rather than making every photograph feel too stiff. Some photographs are more traditional and posed, while others are about the interaction between everyone.

The result is a gallery that shows both sides of the day, the beautiful formal moments and the fun that happened in between.

The Little Wedding Details

One of the things I love about wedding photography is that the story is not only about the bride and groom.

It is also about all the little details they chose to make their wedding their own at Ou Stal wedding venue. Tammeron and Celvin’s wedding had so many beautiful details to photograph.

The pink flowers. The greenery. The rose gold touches. The candles. The fairy lights. The wedding cake. The bridal details. The groom’s pink accents. Each individual element may seem small on its own, but together they created the atmosphere of their wedding day at Ou Stal wedding venue.

And then there was the melktart. A beautiful wedding dessert and a wonderful South African touch to the celebration. Of course, as a photographer, I could not resist photographing that too.

A Romantic Atmosphere Inside the Barn at Ou Stal wedding venue

Because of the weather, the barn became an important part of the wedding photographs at Ou Stal wedding venue. The candles and fairy lights created a beautiful atmosphere, especially as the day moved towards the reception. The warm lighting worked beautifully with the rose gold details and soft pink flowers. Sometimes rainy wedding days actually give you a different kind of atmosphere.

Instead of bright sunlight everywhere, you get softer light, cosy interiors and a feeling of intimacy. For Tammeron and Celvin, the barn became more than just somewhere to escape from the rain. It became part of their wedding story at Ou Stal wedding venue.

A Couple Who Didn’t Let the Rain Spoil Their Day at Ou Stal wedding venue

One thing I remember most about this wedding is that the rain did not stop the fun. It would have been easy to become frustrated when the weather meant that plans had to change. But weddings are not really about the weather.

They are about getting married. They are about the people standing beside you. They are about laughing with your friends, celebrating with your family and finally getting to call the person you love your husband or wife.

Tammeron and Celvin embraced their day.

We worked around the rain, made the most of the dry moments and created photographs wherever we could. And that is something I always tell couples when we are planning their wedding photography: things may not always happen exactly as you imagine them, but that does not mean the photographs will be any less beautiful.

Sometimes the unexpected moments become the photographs you treasure most.

And Maybe the Rain Really Was a Blessing at Ou Stal wedding venue

There is an old saying that rain on your wedding day is a blessing. Whether you believe that or not, I think it is a lovely way to look at a rainy wedding. Instead of remembering the rain as something that disrupted the day, Tammeron and Celvin can look back and remember it as part of their story.

They can remember sneaking outside between showers. They can remember taking photographs next to the barn before the rain started again. They can remember spending time with their bridal party inside. They can remember the warm glow of the candles and fairy lights.

And most importantly, they can remember the day they got married. Years from now, I think those memories will mean far more than whether they had sunshine or rain.

Looking Back at Tammeron & Celvin’s Wedding at Ou Stal wedding venue

Every wedding I photograph has its own personality. Some are sunny and bright. Some are windy. Some are cloudy. Some have perfect golden-hour weather.

And some, like Tammeron and Celvin’s wedding, involve watching the sky carefully and taking every opportunity we can get.

But every wedding has something that makes it special.

For this wedding at Ou Stal wedding venue, it was the combination of the romantic pink and rose gold styling, the beautiful barn atmosphere, the flowers and greenery, the candles and fairy lights, the laughter and, of course, the rain. The rain didn’t stop their fairytale wedding.

It simply became part of it. And as I look through their wedding gallery at Ou Stal wedding venue, I don’t see a day where we couldn’t get enough photographs outside. I see a couple who were completely in love, surrounded by people who mattered to them, celebrating one of the biggest days of their lives.

That is what wedding photography is really about. It is not about creating a day that looks perfect on paper. It is about capturing the day that actually happened. The smiles. The nerves. The laughter. The little glances between two people who have just promised to spend their lives together. The flowers. The dress. The details. The unexpected moments.

And yes, sometimes the rain.

Thank You, Tammeron & Celvin

Tammeron and Celvin, thank you for allowing me to be part of your wedding day at Ou Stal wedding venue and for trusting me to capture all those memories for you.

Your wedding at Ou Stal wedding venue may not have given us the weather we expected, but it gave us something much more important – a day filled with love. And I think that is exactly how it should be.

As Pablo Neruda wrote:

“I love you simply, without problems or pride.”

Looking back at your wedding photographs at Ou Stal wedding venue, that feeling of love is what comes through.

The rain came. The rain went.

But the love remained.

And perhaps that old saying was right after all.

Rain on your wedding day really can be a blessing.
